Meetings and community events
OpenResi brings together HOA meetings, community gatherings (workdays, neighbourhood events) and other events in the building in one place. As an owner you can confirm your attendance (RSVP) and comment.
Where do I find events
In the side menu click "Community → Events". The page has two tabs:
| Tab | Content |
|---|---|
| Upcoming | Events dated in the future |
| Past | Events that have already taken place |
For each event you see:
- Title and description
- Date and time
- Location
- Entrance (if the event applies to a specific entrance)
- Author's name (chairman, committee)
- Photo, if provided
The dashboard shows the next 3 events.
How do I RSVP
For an upcoming event you have three buttons:
| Button | Meaning | Colour |
|---|---|---|
| Attending | I will definitely come | green |
| Maybe | I am not sure yet | yellow |
| Not attending | I will not come | grey |
Click one of them. The selected option is highlighted and OpenResi immediately updates the attendance counts for the event.
OpenResi does not show an "Are you sure?" dialog. The status changes immediately. If you made a mistake, click a different option — you can overwrite your response at any time.
Response counts
Right above the buttons you see the aggregated counts from all owners, for example:
Responses: 14 attending, 3 maybe, 2 not attending
These counts are visible to every owner in the building — this way the chairman can plan for the quorum of the meeting.
Comments on an event
Below the RSVP buttons is a "Show responses (count)" section. Click it to expand the list of comments from other owners.
Adding a comment
Click "Add comment". A window with a text field opens — write your message and submit. The comment appears under the event with your name and the time.
Comments are useful for example to:
- Ask questions about the meeting agenda
- Propose adding an item to the agenda
- Logistical questions ("Will parking by the entrance be available?")
Comments are visible to every owner in the building. For personal matters contact the chairman directly by email.
Past events
In the "Past" tab you see the same details (title, date, description, photo), but without the RSVP buttons — you can no longer sign up for an event that has already taken place.
Comments on past events remain visible — for example if you want to look back at questions and answers from last year's meeting.
HOA meeting with a vote
Some meetings have a linked vote of type "at a meeting" (see Voting as an owner). For such a meeting:
- Your RSVP is not a vote — it only signals whether you will attend
- You must cast your vote in person or via a proxy
- The chairman or vote counter records your choice from the paper ballot
After such a meeting ends, the Voting section provides the minutes with all votes and the result.
